Week 45 - Happy Fathers Day!

Alcala

Hey yo, what's up? Yesterday and today are the first days I'm actually homesick here. We showed up to Sacrement a little late yesterday and one of the speakers was missing so of course they asked us to talk XD. It's been 4 years in a row now that I've spoken on Fathers day. I wish I could skype you dad. I miss you a ton. We have 3 baptisms planned for  July 4. Other than that we haven't found any new investigators with potential. Everything else is aobut the same. We work hard play hard.

Week 44 - Philippines broadcast with Elder Anderson

Alcala

This week was pretty much average. Nothing exciting really happened. We didn't have church, we had a Philippines national broadcast with E. Anderson as the speaker. It was actually really good. We are still teaching the investigators I've mentioned to you. It sucks there was no church last week, because 2 weeks ago was the first time that the Rino family was able to go to church. I was hoping to just keep that rolling, but apparently god has different plans XD.

We don't really have any new investigators that show potential. It's the same deal with our less actives. We have a few that are saying they want to come back to church, but they don't ever come. Last week we also had our zone conference you should be able to get pictures there. I don't want to connect my camera directly to the PC anymore I think that's a reason why my camera freaked out. I also forgot to bring my card reader, so y'all can just wait till next week.

Week 43 - Another cycle in Alcala

Alcala

Sorry I didn't write last week.  For some reason my account wouldn't let me log in last week. I went to 2 or 3 computer shops, but nothing was working. Well it turns out I'm not getting transferred so I'm here for another 6 weeks. That's not bad at all though. I can't believe I didn't get transferred, but it's all good. Our next baptisms are 2 weeks from now. We have 2 young men that will be getting baptized. Also last Sunday we had 2 of our other investigators go to church for the first time so a month from now they should be able to get baptized too.
Haha That is a pretty funny joke. At the end of this month I'll have been out for a year now. That's so crazy to think about. It doesn't feel long at all. I'm happy that I have one year left as a missionary. They say the second year is a whole lot faster. So I guess we'll see.
Anyways thanks for everything guys. Members are getting angry at me, becuase you guys didn't give me enough CTR rings. XD  So you should probably get on that hahaha anyways I love you guys and I miss you guys too. Take care this week. Make sure to tell Greg at summer gamers that I don't miss him at all.

Week 41 - We are sooo cheezy!

Alcala

Haha you guys are always so cheezy in your letters. ;D  It wouldn't hurt to throw in a few more jokes e'ery so often eh. ;)  Things are great here. Yeah we got 2 new investigators. They are the nephews of a member. They just moved here, but they're going to church and listening to the lessons, so hopefully that will go somewhere. They worked with us too yesterday. I'll upload our picture a little bit later.

Other than that me and E. Faa have been having a great time. We just had a district activity. It was one of our sisters birthdays, so we bought cake and cooked food, played volleyball, and had a water fight. The only problem we have right now is Money. I know I hate to ask, but we were unwise with our money this cycle. We spent too much money on food.  Next week, the first week of June, I think I'm getting transferred.  So I shouldn't have this problem again. Is it alright if I withdraw a little bit of money. Just enough to get through this next week?  Anyways, thanks for everything.

I love you guys. I'm working hard for ya'll!

Week 39 - Mothers Day Skype

Alcala

Messages from the mission:

#1 - To the families of the missionaries in the Philippines Cauayan Mission,

You may have been made aware of Typhoon Noul heading toward the Philippines.  The storm is now expected to turn away from the mission boundaries and should pose no real threat.  Your missionary, however, has been asked to be prepared and on alert.  You will be notified, should things change.  Thank you again for your prayers.

#2 - Hello families!

Due to the real possibility of some power outages on Mother’s Day (due to the previously communicated Typhoon), some planned calls may not occur as scheduled.  Every effort will be made to make the Mother’s Day call occur.

And from Tanner:

Oi I just figured out there are no webcams here. So on Friday we will be in tug city, we'll just try for then! We are also experiencing some brownouts.

Finally got to talk to him on Thursday night (his Friday)!

Week 38 - Dinner appointment every night

Alcala

So this week was pretty basic. Had Stake Conference this week, so we were in Tuguegaro for Saturday and Sunday, then today again and also tomorrow for our district meeting. Everything else is just fine here. We are teaching all our investigators with baptismal dates. Unfortunately, they weren't able to come to church because of Stake Conference in Tuguegaro. So that was disappointing, but hopefully this week they will all come. This week we had a dinner appointment basically everynight. Good things about polys, they are always focused on food, which means they always try to set dinner appointments.
